If you mean on these boards, apparently not.
They call it advertising/solicitation.
Even though the item is on their site, generating their income ๐
Yes, I have an opinion. No you don't have to agree with it. Yes I do have a right to it.

I think there is a way to do it, you can't post it in the OP.....

I think it's OK to give the exact title of an item, so people can find it, but not the item number, sellers ID, or a direct link.

Thank you everyone I'll keep that in mind next time I ask a question about an item. It seems strange though esp since its a link to the items on their site.

I posted a link to an item for sale on eBay in a thread and got reported for Advertising and/or Solicting. I appealed that, as it was not my ID selling the item and the warning was overturned.
How can it be advt/solicting if it isn't the posters item for sale?

Yes these are my thoughts too, hence the reason I asked.
This is the official line I believe: 7: Advertising merchandise, listings, services or commercial web sites, including offers to trade, or charitable solicitations.
I don't understand how that can apply to someone simply asking about an item for sale on ebay. Its not a link to another site.
