Bush rebel Barnaby Joyce soon to be deputy PM and leader of Nationals
BARNABY Joyce can, on occasion, be spotted seeking late-night servo snacks near one of Canberra’s popular watering holes.
One time wasn’t long after he and his National Party had one of the biggest wins in government — successfully blocking the sale of Australian grain company GrainCorp to a billion-dollar US company.
There was the Agriculture Minister, red-faced and jovial, stopping off for an after-midnight packet of Burger Rings and a flavoured milk.
He bummed a cigarette off a journalist (who’d also had a pint or five) and happily chatted away.
In a few weeks it’s more than likely Barnaby Thomas Gerald Joyce will become the 13th leader of the Nationals. By virtue of being in the Coalition, he’ll also become deputy prime minister.
It will be perhaps the most recent case of the rebel heading the establishment.

He has been the obvious choice but I will miss Warren Truss, what a dignified and knowledgeable man he is.

The triangular structures you see on a bridge is an example of Warren Truss.
. A Warren truss is a support structure used in different constructions, for supporting a load. These are used extensively in bridges.
Trusses were usually made of timber, iron, or steel.

This is Barnaby building his bridge at Uralla. (The crane is sitting on his left shoulder.)
Edited: It looks as though he needs a truss.

I wonder if old Tony Windsor is still going to run against Barnaby?
