Giving a person instruction on how to live in a certain way, perhaps within a societal framework is not necessarily a bad thing.
While my knowing how to sing a death might not provide a practical, 'real time' solution to anything, it is nurturing on a spiritual level.
Yes, there is dangerous indoctrination, but that appears in all aspects of life - I wrote a satirical text to appear in the backround of a photo of one of my monster toys that read "My Daddy says if I don't get a thousand 'likes' for this I have to eat my vegetables".
Really. "Likes", have people become so brainwashed that "Likes" are a measure of their worth, their self worth?
Don't get me wrong, in my opinion there are "religious" types who take manipulation way too far, but in the scheme of things they're a small goldfish in the tank.
There is education and there is education, and what the individual does, as a result of that education is what matters.

That's my point too ecar, so we can agree on that.
What people do with their spiritual education (for the want of a better description) is entirely their decision, and I don't have any problems with that. Where it does become a manifestation of brainwashing and manipulation upon others though ( the sects, cults and other destructive behaviours via certain churches and various religions) is quite demonstrable and clear, and that, in my opinion, is where it can and does violate certain societies.
Just to clarify, the little cartoon I posted was a sketch of someone joining a church, and then someone pulling out their brains and saying "welcome to church, you won't be needing these".
So there was no suggestion of actual brainless people attending churches, just that they wouldn't necessarily need to use them there, so it was just a misinterpretation and some felt offended and for them, I removed it xxxxxxx

Ignorance stems from what the churches expect and demand really
by ignorant i meant those people
who think everyone who attends church
is brainless. obviously that is not the
case. a lot of high profile, intelligent ppl
go to church, mosque and other places
of worship.
it was in response to bushies girl's post who
i believe responded to something you said.
(i didn't see what you posted)

For what it is worth ecar, I'm not on Facebook or Twitter as I personally see it as something I would not want or need, and the business of "likes" and "friends" doesn't draw me to it either.
I do understand that a vast majority use and enjoy it, but it's not for me as I keep in touch with all my friends without it quite successfully.

No, wasn't it response to something I said, it was the little cartoon, which I have posted a clarification.
Sorry you didn't see it though, you might have seen it quite differently perhaps, who knows.
That's right, I don't think everyone who goes to church is brainless xx

was it this one?

Yes, that's the one ....
So I clarified that you don't need to be brainless to go to church, but don't necessarily need them to be there, well done for finding it, thank you xx ...

Perhaps you had better consider taking it down though, I did because it offended someone and I thought it the right thing to do as someone was (offended).

oh come on
i don't know how to delete it.
on 04-10-2015 02:33 PM
If you click on your avi (name) it should take you to your picture file (gallery?) and it will give you an option to delete it.
Someone might be able to explain that better than I have, so hope that helps you xx
