Bondi racist bus attack: Jewish schools on alert after eight males threaten to cut schoolchildren’s throats, five teenagers arrested
They were screaming ‘Heil Hitler’, ‘Kill the Jews’,
‘Palestine must kill you Jews’, ‘
We are going to cut your throats and slice your throats open’
POLICE have arrested five alleged offenders involved in a terrifying racial attack on a school bus in Sydney yesterday.
Jewish children as young as five were subjected to a terrifying racial attack when thugs stormed their school bus and threatened to slit their throats.
Screaming “Kill the Jews” and “Heil Hitler” the louts jumped on the bus packed with about 30 students, from kindergarten to year 12, who were on their way home from school yesterday.
Due to their level of intoxication they could not be formally interviewed by police. Their parents were contacted and Waverley detectives plan to formally interview the group later today.
The males are aged between 15 and 17-years-old, but threeoffenders are yet to be located.
Eastern Beaches Inspector Chris Stiles said officers reviewed CCTV from the school bus which led to the arrest on a Dover Heights street.
Police said at 3.50am today, six young males were found in Dover Heights. They are believed to be those who were on the bus.
The threatened students, from Mount Sinai College, Moriah College and Emanuel School, were hysterical after the attack by eight young men as the school bus travelled through the eastern suburbs towards Bondi Junction.
The attackers, described as Australian and smelling of alcohol, boarded on Alison Rd, Randwick at 4pm.
Solved! Go to Solution.

The driver may have not even been aware what was going on in the back of the bus, it is unlikely that he would hear what exactly was said, or all hat was said, unless it was shouted very loudly. Kids are often rowdy and noisy, as far as I heard on the news, nobody was actually physically attacked. When the driver realised there is a problem, he asked the bullies to get off the bus, which they did. Assaulting them would not solve anything.

No, that is not what I said. There is no excuse for this sort of behaviour, any more than there was excuse for accosting Muslim women and girls after 9/11. Only racist cowards do that, but when Israel is blatantly disregarding international laws, it gives these sorts of people an excuse to harass the weak who are easy targets
By the way Hamas is the democratically elected government in Gaza; like it or not. Israel is continuing to grab more and more Palestinian land; if they stop the rockets will stop. If Israel gets out of the occupied territories and it will sit down to negotiate 2 state solution, the rockets will stop. But Israel does not want peace, they would mean they could not get more settlements build. They want whole of Palestine and some bits of neighboring countries.

Something I find perplexing is that Israel and Hamas aren't in direct talks with each other, all negotiations according to the news articles I have read are going "through" Egypt. Are they both that childish that they can't approach each other face to face to try and resolve their "differences" Just seems strange to me and surely it's prolonging this whole affair...

The full frontal attack by Australian media on Israel, not showing the real story behind this last eruption and always taking Hamas' side is what has inflamed these young bullies who are not in possession of the full and honest reporting that was so sadly missed in Australia.
The hysterical defence of Hamas on here only illuminates what is going on outside this bubble, no wonder these ill informed youths were doing this.

that was a shocking thing to happen here in Australia. the girls must've been terrified
the bus driver said that the boys were in school uniform and had school passes, so he let them on. He has now been stood down from his job.
The parents thought that the bus service was an exclusive bus for 3 Jewish schools along the bus route, but it was a general school bus'service.
I hope the boys are ashamed of themselves for doing that

Now let me see. It’s a private school bus.
Kids being kids, school bus drivers must follow specific procedures when children get on or off. Prevents things that one wants to avoid, such as getting one stuck in a door or running over one after you’ve dropped it off.
The attackers, weren’t wearing school uniforms and some were so drunk they couldn’t be immediately interviewed. So this poses the, how did they get onto the bus in the first place, because the only way on was vide a door under the sole control of the driver.
As far as I’m concerned, this driver is either gutless or negligent, and in all probability both.

if it was a private school bus, he shouldn't have let them on board. I'm only repeating what was said on last night's news TB
here is an article that says the same thing

I think you are totally wrong there Lightning. I have read probably 100 articles since "this last eruption" started from over 20 different sources from Australia and abroad and not even the Palestinians themselves are taking sides with Hamas according to these sources. I dont see anyone in the media taking sides with Hamas, but they do seem to spend alot of time taking sides with the innocent men, women and children of Gaza that have lost their familiy members, homes, businesses, running water, electricity ect ect. And I think thats where you are wrong in always saying those that sympathize with the innocent people are actually Hamas sympathizers.
The hysterical defence imo is coming more from those that support Israel, because it's hard to defend a nation that already has everything at their fingertips. You have to admit, Israel have always had the upper hand. The innocent Palestinians are easy to defend because from what very little they had, they have lost it all (again)

The reports I’ve heard was it was a bus charted by the school.
However even if it wasn’t, he was the adult in charge. Therefore it was up to him to do something.
And this argument that kids are rowdy and therefore he may not have not simply have known, doesn’t cut it.
I say again, he was the adult in charge. Therefore he had a duty to know. So, if he didn’t know then he’s rankly incompetent. On the other hand if he did know, and did nothing, he’s gutless.

the 'attackers' were interviewed in the early hours
of thursday morning. they got on the bus approx at 3:50 pm the previous day.
how do you know they were already 'so drunk' at the time? they were wearing
school uniforms and had school bus passes. they had the right to be on the bus
as it was a school bus not exclusive to one school. a couple of them had already
been on the bus before the others got on. the bus driver was not aware of what
was going on. best to read the police statement before making accusations
