Boycott Bali

If the horrific murder of two Australians is carried out then we should boycott Bali and all things Indonesian.

We gave over a $billion dollars to this country after the tsunami, we prop then up with foreign aid and they spit in our faces.

They have  ignored all diplomatic attempts to mitigate their sentences and Watta a Joko has now signed the order to send them to the "killing Island" wouldn't want to kill them on Bali now would they, might upset the tourism business.

I'm appalled and disgusted, scared and frightened for these men and heartsick for their families.

Execution is not murder, it's the sentence they were given, with the full cooperation of the AFP, who had ample opportunity to stop it before it happened. Boycott them?

I am not in favour of the death penalty in any circumstances.

The sentence needs to fit the crime, these couriers are only greedy people wanting to make a quick $,

the real criminals are the drug lords that are protected by a corrupt police force and Government.

They are the ones that should be dealt with harshly, but corruption and pay offs protect them

I think we should boycott all countries that still have death penalty.  It would not leave many of favorite holiday destinations though.  So lets just only boycott those who kill Australians, right.

Execution is a murder, it is a government sanctioned but still murder.

The AFP did nothing wrong.

I disagree, so does Scott Rush's family.

The Australian Federal Police must take the blame for the two Bali Nine ringleaders being on death row and do everything to save them, a lawyer close to the case says.

Bob Myers, a barrister and family friend of Bali Nine drug courier Scott Rush, tipped off the AFP in 2005 about the attempted heroin run from Bali to Australia. He said he now feels "betrayed".

The AFP assured him they would approach Rush before he left the country, he said. Instead, the AFP relayed the names, dates of birth and passport numbers of the Bali Nine members to Indonesian authorities, triggering their arrests.

Now, Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan, 31, and Myuran Sukumaran, 33, face death by firing squad this month.

"I am really urging ... the AFP to stand up and say, 'Look, this was our fault, we had no authority to do it'," Mr Myers said on ABC's Radio National.

I agree with a boycott, but not because of the executions.

that is another sad thing here Joono, the Balinese are largely Hindu and do not support these executions but i guess most of the travellers dollars end up being taxes paid into jakarta

Who is going to enforce the boycott? Australian Govt?  Not their position to tell people where they can go on their holidays ( except give advice warnings for countries where tourists can be in dangerous conditions)

What is the point of this thread? Telling posters here to Boycott Bali? Fat lot of difference that would make, to the very high number of Australians holidaying there.

Boycott Bali

Boycott halal certification

etc, etc.. all noise

I have never been to Bali and don't intend to. I wouldn't expect everyone else to do the same though.
