If the horrific murder of two Australians is carried out then we should boycott Bali and all things Indonesian.
We gave over a $billion dollars to this country after the tsunami, we prop then up with foreign aid and they spit in our faces.
They have ignored all diplomatic attempts to mitigate their sentences and Watta a Joko has now signed the order to send them to the "killing Island" wouldn't want to kill them on Bali now would they, might upset the tourism business.
I'm appalled and disgusted, scared and frightened for these men and heartsick for their families.

That's often the case in these countries. A battle between Political, Military and the Police for power and money.
I hate to say this but we (as in Aust) trained a lot of their guys since the Bali Bombings, hence the name
of one of the units being Detachment 88.

Sadly I think you're right.
The Indonesian people have been brutalised by concurrent military backed regimes, corruption that sees a country with untold wealth languishing in poverty while the cream floats to the top.
They seem to have untold billions to spend on military and defence, we see this in a lot of of military backed regimes while the people have to scrabble for a living on less than $30 a month.
No wonder the Balinese don't care, they see their meal ticket disappearing so they beg us to come to wonderful Bali but it holds a fatal bite.

I spent some time with some of the Kopassus troops, that notorius unit that is well known for killing and murder.
You might remember the headlines at various times.
They are an interesting bunch - well, the small group I met was - hard as nails, hard to get a laugh out of them.

I'll look them up Vic, thanks for the info.
What we see when a nation is corrupt from the top down backed by the military, is military barbarism, they are hardened dog eat dog, hey know who pays the Tillerman.

Start with the 5 Australian Journalists at Balibo - the Balibo 5
Various prisoners in the past as well.
They used to rule East Timor with an iron fist.

But.... the poor little balinese?? they are indonesian and have the same mindset as the rest.
We have been insulted, used and offended by Indonsesia for decades and the apologists say it's our fault?? radical chic on show.

The two Australians and the 8 other condemned prisoners will be moved to the killing island later this week. Just came on the news.
So no matter how good a friend we are to them they spit in our faces.
Boycott Bali? you bet.

I do not agree with the death penalty for this crime for anyone, not just Austraians, but as it is their much publicised law how can you say they are spitting in Australia's face?
If there was any face spitting done it was done by our countrymen who in their arrogance defied Indonesia's laws and deided to traffick heroin anyway despite the law.
