that is a stupid depiction....would you ask a young kid to *caress* a stranger
It is a little set up for me
Back to the question...I dont think it is taught from a young age in Aus. Domestic violence is on the rise in some areas

The whole excercise reinforces the objectification of girls.

Only some of them are taught that. If one in three women suffers domestic violence, then her children sometimes grow up thinking that that is normal behaviour. Children model themselves on the same-gender parent. We learn what we live. The cycle is not easily broken.

I think it is in us fundamentally to not hit females and not necessarily taught.
The male being physically stronger sees hitting pointless and requiring to be onside with females, once again pointless.
However males vying for position with other males introduces fighting amongst many species.
Instinctively males won't hit a female and I think most such cases are more to do with a male n female having a lot of tension/history between them.

My children were all taught not to hit anyone.

I agree. The mother can try and teach her sons it is wrong....and if she is lucky it will pay off. But for those sons who take their cues from their father who is violent, teaching may have little effect. It's a generalisation and there are always exceptions but I think in many cases it holds true.

Muslim boys and girls are taught that it's ok to hit women. it's in the koran; Sura 4

The whole thing was a little bit staged but I still liked it.
The boys were lovely.
