Lurker, this happene to us this week. When I tipped it on the side there was a timber bar under the extending leg part which screwed into two small metal supports. One of the screws had come off and I found it on the floor under the chair and the second one was very loose. I put the screw back using a phillips head screw driver and tightened the other one and it now works perfectly. Check out if this is the prob.

Thanks jean, but it has happened before. It's the cable that has frayed and then snapped. It can be fixed but $$$$
I might just have to learn how to sit like a lady without sprawling all over the place

Enjoy sprawling Lurker, especially if no one else can see you. Add a stiff drink to the mix and all your probs are solved.

If you have a coffee table, pull it up closer to your chair and put you feet on it, bogan style.
