would the PM be so flippant about the names of staff in bills office being turned into political cannon fodder if his sweet daughter was one of those young women?

Geraldton man jailed for 'chilling' knife attack on estranged wife and friend

I see cases like this result from not taking a hard line of domestic violence early on.

this guy had red flags everywhere and i'm sure if we knew his entire life prior to this horrific event we would see bullying and worse from an early age.

the fact hes only going to spend 17 years in prison is once again insane! IMO

hes 39, when he gets out he will still be a danger to society.

I know of someone (not personally, but through their cousin) of a woman who was and still is stalked by an ex boyfriend. Someone who breaks into her home, slashes her car. She had a job in the bakery section of a supermarket but applied for the same job in one of their other branches to avoid him. He rang every branch asking for her & located her.

Her parents moved house. He traced them.

He has assaulted her, said he doesn't care if he spends time in jail, it won't stop him. He has restraining orders but breaks them all the time. He has had a small amount of jail time but most of his behaviour is ignored. The relationship was not recent-we're talking going back about 7 or more years so I think this is a dangerous person.

It seems to me that our courts are far too lenient on some of the violent people, they get handed far too many chances to reform.

I won't mention names but an ex student at a school where I worked has also faced extremely violent charges-almost 200 of them. They include holding a gun to someone's head & home invasions etc. I believe in giving people a second chance but not 200 chances, they are playing us for suckers. Yet would you believe some people started up a petition to defend the right of that person to avoid deportation.

I think that's the problem for the government & our courts. When they try to do anything, we have some who can't bear to see people face any consequences. But that is what is needed. Consequences.
