I'm getting a headstone done in the Roman Catholic section of a cemetery, it's a shared grave. I would like a Catholic saying on there even in Latin. I've googled
Has anyone got any nice ones?
Also there's a Catholic cross isn't there? With a P on it?
I'll be back tonight. It's that slow here I might get a post or two by tonight. Thx

I'd like more information on the person ... age, gender, anything remarkable about them (eg veteran, athlete, teacher ... ).
With crosses, Catholics usually have a crucifix - a cross with the depiction of Christ's body.
As far as I can remember, my Catholic dead relatives just have NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, DATE OF DEATH, and RIP.

Mine has the same Katy, apart from In God's Care at the bottom of the headstone.

I think the best person to ask would be the stonemason.
Surely they would have a book you can flick through for ideas and pictures of completed head stones?
my relatives headstones says, *beloved mother and grandmother* etc... then *In gods loving care* ... or similiar to that.
Sorry for you loss, Clair.

sorry for butting in but I think it is for an ancestor of Clair's not someone recently deceased.
I don't really think there is a distinction about what is written on a memorial for a catholic as to anyone else, not with the headstones I've seen anyway.

Sorry I should've said but I typed this out in a rush before work. Yes it's for my ancestors who are in an unmarked grave, there's three in there, husband & wife and their son.
Maybe I'll scrap the Latin idea. I'll check out those links thanks

Clair..............have a look around at the other headstones in the cemetery where you plan on getting the headstone erected and see what they have..............I would suggest you go with whatever was "in" at the time.
In my Catholic ancestral graves they seem to have a small foot stone with their initials on it...........usually sandstone and the initials are facing the headstone.
