CNN accidentally says Auckland is an Australian city during New Year's Eve coverage
CNN kicked off 2014 with an epic fail.
The American news channel flashed a caption suggesting that Auckland is a city in Australia while showing highlights from New Year's celebrations around the world.
Eagle-eyed viewers quickly pounced on the error and shared screenshots on social media, with a number of annoyed Kiwi's urging the broadcaster to "check their facts".
CNN hasn't commented about the embarrassing mix-up.
They just have no idea, over there on the other side of the world, do they?
What about that time NZ's PM John Key was called an "unidentified guest" at Mandela's funeral?

We should consider our selves lucky, many yanks believe Australia is part of the US

They wouldn't be embarassed because they (( the US) don't care. They hardly even know where Australia is and think NZ is part of Australia. Don't they get mixed up with Austria and Australia as well?

A friend of mine's dad visited Texas many years ago and was asked how long the Sydney Harbour Bridge was as it must be very, long to join Australia and NZ together, seriously this guy was on a huge cattle ranch and had never been anywhere, typical ignorant yank who thought the edge of the world was the USA borders.

British Paper said Auckland was the Capital of New Zealand 🙂
Americans for some reason think there is a bridge across the ditch 🙂
