Well I do hope this finds you all well:)
My step dad goes into a care facility tomorrow for 3 days and nights to see how he goes, it is low care even though his assessment says he is high care, but this facility is very nice and homey so we hope that it will all be ok
My Mum is not well but she is still fighting the care factor all the way
I just pray it will all work out:)

Miss congrats on your first ever snipe:-) sounds like you've been very busy with your babysitting.My Aunt and Uncle live in the county Radstock(had to ring my mum because i had no idea)they moved there from Robe.Number One son is still doing another course i think he has about 4 weeks to go before going back to his future employer,then he has a 3 month trial then the apprenticeship starts.He can't wait:-)

Jvh a few days away sounds like just what you need hope it all pans out for you.How's your son coping with his knee?

Pj hope your feeling better today.Miss is right sounds like you could use a good tonic to boost your immune system there are some on the market that won't interfere with your medication.

Hugs Dame tough times girl and there is no easy way to do it.......respite is a marvellous introduction to a full time care........what a shame that you couldnt get more than three days.........and then just slip seamlessly into full on residential care.

Prayers being said for you all........so much strenght required all round at this time:)

hI jvh sounds like a lovely morning coffee and buying fruit trees - also sounds as though it will be up to you to plan the 'get away' - it is difficult to co-ordinate everyone's schedules. Worth it though!

Hiya libby - so happy to see your son is well on his way to a bright and happy future! So difficult these days to find apprenticeships with all the competition - big congratulations to him and to you!
As far as dancing is concerned - you have a great idea - I'm hoping when pjbear pops in she will know if we can indeed contact her via ebay. I have been worrying as well. Pjbear seems way more computer literate than myself.

Hey all, I am feeling much better today, I now just have to rest up and totally recover, but I am feeling better, I am taking vitamin D tabs, as My immune system is sooo low atm, that my GP sent me to the compounding chemist to get them made up...It is ever so hot here in SA, i cant wait for winter to come back..LOL!
YEP i CAN CONTACT DANCING VIA EBAY MEEMBER AND SEE IF SHE IS OKAY IT SHOULD BE EASY ENOUGH TO DO! ooops sorry hit the caps button, cant be bothered deleting and repeating LOL!!

Hmmm I like the way the boards are set up now, cept for the list of posts it did not look like anyone had posted since yesterday!!! so gotta get used to that but it wont take too long!!

Hi jvh - you are surely right regards owning a house - always something needing attention. We just bought a new travertine table will put the older existing one from upstairs lounge to downstairs lounge - but will need some help as they are so heavy!

Pjbear you are such a gem being able and willing to contact dancing and give her our best wishes! Sometimes it means so much to know you are thought of. Hope you continue to feel better! Didn't realize it was so hot in SA - just send it down here lol!

Hi dame lovely to see you - hope your stepdad settles quickly and do hope your mum is much better.

I can't believe it is nearly 2 weeks since I last posted.!:-D
However, that is probably an untrue statement as I have been sooo busy.]:)
Work work work, having a carport built onto my house, giving a speech at a celebration dinner for a great 87 year old Wollongong unionist (Fred Moore - anyone with mining connections will know the name), going to Folk in the Foothills (a local allday folk festival) and then working working working!:-)
I haven't kept up all your doings - but -
jvh - I hope you are more rested and slowly getting over the loss of your mother
pjbear - sorry you have been unwell (again - you poor thing) but glad you are feeling much better
nefertiti - how's the job hunting and all?
dame - I'm sure your step dad will be fine. but it is really hard - best wishes
libby, kyliemarie, kelly, purps, miss, and ....(how's my memory going?) and everyone else, hope all is well with you?.:-x
Good news is - the diet is still going ok - not a lot of results since last report, but it's been a bit up and down - but I haven't been a backslider!
The bad news is my poor old cat, Scatty is not a well boy!:-(
He had a bowel obstruction on Monday which they "fixed" but for last 3 days has been breathing funny, and despite 2 visits to the vet and some injections and lots of TLC he isn't much better. This evening the vet said his is "quietly worried", so I am "not so quietly worried"!:_|
Sorry to rave on , but , you guessed it!:-), this post is my displacement activity.:|
Oh :-p- he's just come over to say hello! he's using the kitty litter! he's had a drink! (won't eat the bar-b-q chicken -they reckon this is the MOST appetising thing for a sick cat) but I got a few purrs (he couldn't do that earlier)!! Hope is returning!
Must run - have to give my beautiful boy some TLC!!:-x

Hi Miss and just thinking about moving the travertine table gives me cold shivers:)

They look sensational so classy and elegant but devils to shift a bit like the top range billiard tables

I have a lot of stuff now of mothers that i have to sell and get rid of........in respect to her the house was left pretty much the way she like it but now have a bit of a task in front of me.

Here on the Goldie the antique type furniture doesnt seem to go in with the lifestyle or the climate..........i just look at all the stuff and think oh drat and what am i going to do:) The joys of being an only child:)
