Gooooooooooooood morning all...................off to have coffee with my friend and then go see Mother and try and get her to eat some lunch.......geez very hard yards for her at the moment:(

Going through a difficult time with my faith or lack thereof as to how and why a person who is as ill frail as Mother and so out of it can continue as she is........thats my rant for the week i promise:)

Have a super day everyone and will be BBL

I am sorry you are finding it difficult JV. :-x
Today we are going to see my mother in law. I don't want to but my hubby needs me there.
She has gone downhill and is in terrible pain and refuses to have morphine.... as that is what they gave her sister in her last days. She is no longer having any food (was only having liquid high protein anyway for last 3 months) and sleeping lots. Her chemo was stopped.
My sis in law called to tell hubby that mum looks very bad and she sees no hope for her. Hubby says she is "death watching" and mum knows.
So, I will be referreeing. "it's just the way she is" "she is dealing with the loss of her mum her own way" etc.
She needs to be in a hospice but she won't go.

Hugs Karen and yes i so know what you hubby and all the family are going through......and im thinking that each of us deal in Death in our own way.

I personally from experience have found the hospice system in Australia to be better than world class......the Hospice at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane run by the Sisters of Mercy is flawless just superb and tranquil., my late hubby spent the last part of his life there:)

Makes it very hard when they refuse morphine as it can help so much for them to be in a lovely drifting dreamlike state:)

Hugs going out to you all:)

Hugs Karen and jvh:-x
Sorry you both going through this. Morphine and Hospices are indeed very helpful - and paliative care in this country is excellent.
It's just a pity diamorphine (heroin) isn't legal here - as it takes away the pain without the foggy mental state. From my experience OS patients with a terminal illness were more willing to take it - as they felt they didn't lose themselves.

Oh and jvh - no it's not a wedding.
It's a "Solidarity Dinner" for the people of Venezuela.:-x
Just waiting for the sauce to "reduce", because there's so much of it it's taking forever.:|
