Hey Tas,

Hi Kezza xxx
I love the colder weather too. It has always made me chuckle when the Aussies refer to the 'cold'. I think of minus 38 in Northern Quebec and minus 46 when we visited Alaska in the winter, now THAT was cold.
Easier to get warm than it is to get cooled down isn't it.
Quite often I have to travel to the mainland and the difference between winter and this far south is quite astonishing, always surprises me about the way I must pack clothes; sometimes, it's a bit like going from the southern hemisphere to the northern, very odd feeling.

Hi all...........I have just been looking back through this thread when JV first started it........OMG! so many of the posters that were posting then are no longer posting at all.
Would be great to get this thread going and keep going for when JV comes back from her cruise to Alaska....
I hate the cold and I am in Melbournes Dandenong Ranges.............I know Tas, not as cold as Canada.

Hi Purple, good to see you again xx
Guess you do get a bit of snow up there in the Dandenongs? Not as cold as Canada for sure, but cold enough.
I studied at UBC (Vancouver) and it didn't snow much in the city at all, but a few minutes slightly out from the city (one example) is Grouse Mountain, and a lot of snow there, and on the mountains around leading to the Rockies.

Hi Tas, nice to see you too.
Snows at Olinda more than other places here in the hills, although we did get some the other week, when it was really cold.
I have a cousin that lives in Manitoba Cananda and he gets snow and it is really cold......
I will be glad when the warmer weather comes, it has blown a gale, rained and been cold every day this month.......so over it!
