What are your thoughts on Cadbury, their sales have fallen into a huge heap in the second half of the year.
Is it a result of Cadbury changing the formula to remove pig fats to gain Halal certification that has affected the texture and flavor of their product,
or is it a back lash from people boycotting Cadbury due to the Halal certification and sending a message to them
The Hobart Cadbury factory will close its doors for five weeks at the end of this year.

what ever the reason it would seem they have made some huge mistakes that have effected sales

"
So does cutting the fat off bacon make it "not pork" ???"

Is Cadbury's closing down?

who knows it's pretty easy to put up a picture of managers special then claim it's to do with pig fat, halal certification etc etc.

Sometimes they will self off older stock cheap just because there is a change in packaging.
I like Pink Lady chocolate. It is lovely and smooth, and made in Melbourne.

Yes, Lindt often undercut all the other brands, especially in Christmas/Easter season- half price boxes everywhere. Aggressively trying to increase their market share and putting Australians out of work in the process.
The two small Lindt blocks I have, one is Made in France, the other in Switzerland.
No supporting of Australian workers jobs by buying that stuff.

to the OP
My thoughts......are that since the Cadbury HQ was relocated from OZ to NZ (well actually they have had NZ base as well as Oz base for many years.....but ditched the Australian base it seems) I believe that this then entitled the NZ factory in that country to import lottsa chocolate 'product' from China!!.........carp product that would then be poured, wrapped up as usual and marketed as 'made from local &/or imported/or both from Cadbury factory based in NZ....
The Kiwis have a 'special' trade agreement with China.....
Then anything that we import like this from NZ would of course have Chinese product in it.
Like am3 says.....buy the Lindt product for now, much better.....hope this company stays true.
the quality of the 'chocolate' is gross now

All you people saying yuk to pig fat, do any of you eat bacon, a pork sunday roast with crackling ?
No to both of the above, aps, but I do like ham and of course there's fat in/on that.
I can't stand the thought of it in chocolate though, thanks. And If see chocolate products made with Palm oil, I don't buy those either.
I rarely buy chocolate anyway, though.
If I do, it's not for myself, and it's mostly from Aldi. I also don't buy chocolate in summer (Christmas) when it's hot. It tends to melt and I can't stand it gluggy. Nor do I like it out of the fridge all hard. Must be at wintertime room temperature.
Yeah, I know. Who cares!?
