I'm currently out of the country. When I was speaking with some self described "not very political, but generally conservative" voters, who I usually find quite right wing in their views, they told me they are astonished at the conduct of the Abbott government. They can't understand how such a mean and nasty lot are allowed to continue. They see current Australia as a racist and sexist country, and foresee massive international condemnation coming our way sometime soon. (And, btw, they don't watch or listen to the ABC in case you are wondering 🙂 )
That is what Abbott and Hockey can be trusted to do.
Hello Lurker, it's interesting to hear what others think of whats going on here, especially in those countries where austerity measures have already been introduced and failed massively (all of them). Hope you are enjoying your fabulous holiday.

to izab ref commenting that TA must have a touch of the psychopath in him and prob the rest of his party also that keep lying relentlessly, appear to have absolutely no feelings or empathy.....on a mission with a cruel agenda targeting the majority of middle to lower socio-economic groups.
On who's command or authority?......who is really running/controlling our country?

I think C&P's are actually more compelling than an unsubstantiated (incorrect) statement B1G e.g. "it's interesting to hear what others think of whats going on here, especially in those countries where austerity measures have already been introduced and it's interesting to hear what others think of whats going on here, especially in those countries where austerity measures have already been introduced and failed massively (all of them) (all of them)"
"Thinking what is going on" does not make it so, and austerity measures while hurting, are healing slowly as Europe appears to be managing, and after some years Greece has just had a successful (oversubscribed) sale of its 5 year bonds.
"Crisis over. Well and truly over. That at least is the market verdict on the eurozone. APR2014"
"After years of agonizing austerity and the biggest debt restructuring in history, Greece had some good news on Thursday when investors reacted enthusiastically to the country’s return to global capital markets with the sale of five-year bonds, raising 3 billion euros, or about $4.2 billion. The sale attracted more than €20 billion in orders, driving the interest rate down to 4.75 percent, well below expectations."
"Politicians in Greece and in the euro zone hailed the result as evidence that Greece had turned the corner"
"Industrial production rose 1.8 percent from October, data from Eurostat showed, significantly better than what economists had expected. For the whole European Union, production rose 1.5 percent in November from October. Both areas reported a 3 percent increase from a year earlier."
"failed massively" nonsense

'I have never heard such rubbish in all my life': Pensioner has a go at Tony Abbott over age pension changes
Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Treasurer Joe Hockey are defending accusations of untrustworthiness, saying their first budget was “fundamentally honest” and drafted in good faith.
But the Prime Minister's greatest critic on Wednesday morning came from an unexpected quarter and left the Coalition leader momentarily speechless.
