I'm currently out of the country. When I was speaking with some self described "not very political, but generally conservative" voters, who I usually find quite right wing in their views, they told me they are astonished at the conduct of the Abbott government. They can't understand how such a mean and nasty lot are allowed to continue. They see current Australia as a racist and sexist country, and foresee massive international condemnation coming our way sometime soon. (And, btw, they don't watch or listen to the ABC in case you are wondering 🙂 )
That is what Abbott and Hockey can be trusted to do.

"Thinking what is going on" does not make it so,  and austerity measures  while hurting,  are healing slowly as Europe appears to be managing, and after some years Greece has just had a successful (oversubscribed) sale of its 5 year bonds.
