Can someone explain why anyone would need Macros on the boards?

I've been away for a few days so I may have missed all the question and answer threads although I have done a search but can't find why I would ever need to use macros?

Oh and I still can't get my settings to go to the last post, is this possible? I did try the settings that someone recommended on here last night but it hasn't worked.

Karen explained this one to me yesterday Cosmos.

It is so you can store certain information that you might want to use regularly.

For example in the answer centre lots of new sellers ask a lot of the same questions, such as why can't I leave negative feedback for my buyer that didn't pay.

The answer centre helpers can answer them all without having to retype the information every time for each seller.  They can just click on their macros section and select the relative answer.

Macros (and most other features) are excellent for the help boards. If a helper is constantly answering the same questions about, say, postage, they could save their answer as a macro to save having to type the whole answer every time.

Also, at the moment at least until it is fixed, you can't skip straight to the last post on old threads.  You just have to click on the last page and get sort of there.

With new threads since the boards changed over it will skip to the last post but only if you haven't already read it.  Otherwise it will skip just to the last page that you have read.
