Bill Shorten’s standing with voters has tumbled to his lowest level as Malcolm Turnbull’s support hits new highs and the Coalition enjoys its strongest lead in two-party terms in almost two years.

I wonder how long it will take them to backstab the backstabber.

" the backstabber"       I love a good chuckle in the morning.

The Huffington Post UK said the pair (Rudd and Gillard)  had joined a “fine tradition” of “political backstabbers” including Brutus and Julius Caesar..

Myself  I viewed the  Circus, with Poor Me and Rudd in the centre (boxing) ring as thus:

Their timing to replace Abbott was quite clever. After Abbott's poor record, his successor was bound to have a prolonged honeymoon period that would spill over into the election year when everything, including the moon, will be promised - if Turnbull can retain the leadership.

Gosh yes,  and after only  30 bad opinion polls in a row?

"if Turnbull can retain the leadership."      I suspect that he will just manage to cling on to that position.

Meanwhile BSD,  have you considered lighting a candle for Harvey Shorten, he would appear to be in a worse position than your other candlee.

Who's Harvey Shorten? Did you mis-type and meant Bill ? or is there another pollie of the same surname who I haven't heard of?

Anyway, Mr Turnbull was guaranteed to lift the poll ratings of the LNP by very virtue of not being Tony Abbott.

Once the elation settles down, people will look past the man to the policies and then they will understand that plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

and then, polls will plummet. Smiley Tongue

Poor Bill, I feel a bit sorry for him after 18 months of doing nothing and riding the wave of populism on Abbotts back he's been exposed for the hollow man he really is.

He is really only a back room machine man weilding the knives to strike down anybody who gets in his way to the top.

He and his tired old  policy free party will be massacred come the next election and they were all so hoping that one term Tony would help them into power again.
