Cat people...suggestions please.

Son and partner have an 8 month old cat. She vomits most meals up and has done for most of her life. She is a small cat, but fit and playful. They have had her to the vet many times, she is there now. Every diet suggested has not made a difference. Last night she vomited her meal, and a lot of bright red blood. ๐Ÿ˜ž Maybe an ulcer?

What I would like to know is if anyone has had the same problem, and is the answer to feed her cooked chicken and nothing else? This seems to be something she can keep down in small amounts. Would giving her pet milk before her meal to coat her stomach help?

On the vet's table looking not very impressed. ๐Ÿ™‚

did they stick a camera down her neck Katey?

She's a sweet looking kitty. My cat would have to be duct taped to the table to get her to stay still in a vets room.

Thanks bright.ton.

Pretty much what I expected. Seems a shame that she is having this problem when she is so young.

It's heartbreaking Katy but being young could be a good thing as she may well recover sooner than an older kitty would.

Please keep us informed.  She's such a lovely little one.

Thanks everyone.

She is a very sweet little cat, sort of tortoiseshell but not quite. Can't make up my mind what she is exactly.

No, scarlet, they knock her out and put a scope down her throat to see what is going on, same as they do for humans.

Could be anything at all, but it might also be an alergy...

If chicken  + pet milk is okay for her, then you know what to feed her when she gets home again until they find out what is going on.

Second opinion is important in my opinion...  could even be, as suggested, a blockage or an ulcer... or something she was born with that might need an operation....

Very hard to deal with and very distressing for you...

Do let us know how you get along.

I'm aware of that. What I was trying to ascertain is, did they definitely have a bo-peep or did they just assume it's an ulcer.

I used to have Burmese cats and she rather looks like one to me. Her colour is what's called Blue/Cream Tortie - it's like a washed-out variant of tortoiseshell.

If she is a Burmese, they are quite a small cat and have gorgeous "doggy-like" natures, with a definite sense of humour.

I really hope she recovers soon.

I think you are correct Marina. I looked at some google images, and she is a good match for some there.
