I don't like the language.I am appalled at the some saying they want to murder the women...has anyone noted those words ? Are they OK ? or the fact that there is a troll trying to impersonate her ? Is that OK ?

Freaki, thanks for adding that c&p .I read that and though that may be the angle Catherine Deveny takes ...the taking the myth out of the legend .Looking at the why they went, the fact that they were real and scared .Fear and the shear reality of it all drove many mad....if in their crazed state they ran off...they were shot as deserters rather than given leave and psychiatric care.

I think she reinforces the message in that c&p that we need to keep it real and honour those soldiers by never forgetting why it happened (because of what was happening to people...she mentions murder and other things...that was happening ) and valuing the peace we ALL have today.

If we don't value it and value everyone we risk contributing to what causes wars rather than honoring lives lost/damaged .

I find it bizarre that people have no problems with threats of death and rape for the sin of offending some people.  Even more bizarre that these people did not hold back in their hatred for Conroy when he suggested some change to what they perceive as their freedom of speech.  :^O

Correct, and as an ex serviceman I am generally in agreement with what he said.

How many here have taken the trouble to research the whole Dardanelles campaign, or appreciate that after it  Churchill was deservedly given the boot for such a disastrous and ill founded campaign.
