pct mine lives in the cupboard, I have the same as your gift. I just didn't like it, when I have a coffee I like a bucket (a large mug) which was an issue with fitting it with the machine. I also like my coffee hot hot, which I couldn't seem to achieve. Even when I warmed the mug it wasn't hot enough.

Thanks freddie & donna
I was thinking like you freddie that the coffee wouldn't be hot enough - but I was pleasantly surprised that it was ok for me. I also got one of those milk heater/frother things (Aeroccino3 ?) and that seems to do the trick too.
I had a benchtop Gaggia for a while and the start-up time and maintenance was a pita (particularly for a morning coffee)

We have a Nespresso coffee machine at work. Everyone loves it and it certainly makes rich-looking aromatic coffee. I don't use it I think theres a lot of waste with the pods. I use our old Jura coffee bean machine.

I just use a paper filter and grind my coffee beans at home using a wall-mounted grinder I bought on Gumtree.
Costs me a few dollars for the filter papers and for 250g of very good coffee beans I pay between 10 and 15 dollars which can last me for 2-3 weeks.
Nothing to break down, not much to clean and the "daily grind" has taken on a whole new and relaxing meaning for me. 🙂
