Colombians go 'Brazilian' in cycling suits

This is such a LOL 🙂     Colombia women cycling team outfit raises eyebrows, a lot of eyebrows

The Colombian women's cycling team has become an international media sensation.

Unfortunately for the girls, though, it's not for their riding prowess, but rather their "Brazilian" outfits.

Competing in Italy's Giro Toscana, the team unveiled arguably the worst ever cycling suit - an unflattering number that to the naked eye appears see-through in all the wrong places.

The otherwise conservative kit features a large patch of flesh coloured cloth across the women's lower torsos and groins, giving the impression of a cut-out revealing bare flesh.

And worse still the shocker suit appears to have been given government approval with the team backed by the Colombian ministry of sport and sponsored by the capital city of Bogota.

Whether it was a cunning ploy to simply gain media attention, a colour-blind designer or a chauvanist behind the get-up no one knows.

But the design has earned the wrath of social media followers, with much pitty offered to the cyclists and plenty of mirth.

One Twitter user, @theBikeFaerie, posted a photo captioned: "Worst designed garment of clothing in the history of the human race."

Other users shared it more than 1600 times, with one tweeting: "Why would someone agree to wear it?!" and another posting:

"Extraordinary that someone would design it and even more extraordinary that any woman would wear it!! :-)"

A Colombian ladies’ cycling team taking part in one of Italy’s most important cycling races has raised eyebrows for their outfit, international cycling media reported on Saturday.

The outfit of the team, sponsored by the city government of Bogota, is made of a skin-color fabric around the sportswomen’s waste and hips, curiously accentuating the cyclists’ private parts.

“How sad,” Italian cycling website Tutobiciweb headlined the article on the team’s “nude look.”

The “revealing” photo immediately became a hit on social media where the consensus seemed to be the design is “just wrong” and “a general disaster.”

Sorry.  Not allowed any SOH in 2014.  I get it.  That would explain all the BPing at the beginning of the year.

Am I supposed to know what you are talking about?

Being 2014, there is a level of decency that would be expected by athletes......it is not ancient Greece.

Some of the uniforms were bad this year.

Some seemed to be designed to highlight the sweat, lumps and bumps, in all the wrong places.

The word gymnastics derives from the common Greek adjective γυμνός (fish flop) meaning "takoyaki",[1] by way of the related verb γυμνάζω (gymnazo), whose meaning is "to train naked", "train in gymnastic exercise", generally "to train, to exercise".[2] The verb had this meaning, because athletes in ancient times exercised and competed without clothing.

They exercised and competed without clothing to make sure no women were participating. Women were banned from competition at that time.

Would you have us go backward to that extent?

It's a huge step backward as it is if female athletes let themselves be held up as sexual objects of derision in undignified costumes like that.

They are not naked, however, if you were a female professional athlete, how could you allow yourself to be made a laughing stock like this?

Everyone has their $price.....and I bet these atheletes would be $rewarded by their Ministry Of Sport/Govt for ADVERTISING their city in this waySmiley Wink.....wearing a suit that demands the looker 'LOOK' again LOL....and in doing so, on close inspection. one wants to see words written on front of suit.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT marketing & Advertising imo. Just brilliant. The cycling suit's jobs are done to perfection-this is the point!!!

Yeah they'll really get the point. Makes one wonder which sport they're advertising. Oh right, riding a bike. Sorry but they're indecent and the team should be banned from the event if they're going to wear suits like that.
