errr ...   a stick of butter is 250grams, the whole of the small block


used to be able to get twice that much, came as a square block.


 


wot's this recipe for, is it a yank recipe.

In the US butter is packed in a 1 pound box with 4 individual sticks wrapped in a greaseproof type paper

We have similar here too.  I buy the Western Star brand for cooking.  It has 4 individually wrapped blocks of butter each weighing 100gm.  



That is slightly less than an American "stick" but close enough.
