Brer, I appreciate the thought but don't trouble yourself.

It doesn't matter what the book says, I have to try it and see what my body does

I found the relevant bit but it's fairly long. It says that honey only produces a mild glucose spike because of the way the body processes it, but other hormones that are triggered (if you take it just before you go to bed) control the glucose levels and insulin. I'm sure he mentions it in another place too because he says that type 1 diabetes is completely different and I can't find that bit.

You'd be better to read the book for yourself. It's called Eat, Sleep and Slim with Honey and it's by Mike McInnes. If it's not in your library system they can often get them in an inter-library loan. He does stress caution. There are other similar books on honey but I haven't read them (yet).

Yet we hear nothing about how to eat better or how to behave in order to improve your immune system. Producing adrenalin suppresses your immune system really fast and people who are going into panic mode are automatically producing adrenalin.

If and when it comes here I'll be interested to see who gets it. The local op shop sells cakes every Friday and it's all loaded with sugar, and the people who buy it mostly have serious health issues. The woman who cooks most of it consumes huge amounts of sugar herself and isn't remotely interested in helping herself when it comes to her health, probably because she wouldn't know how to cope with having nothing to complain about.

Honestly Brer...if you haven't heard by now about how to eat better or exercise regularly, you haven't been paying attention.

I mean, they teach it at schools. They have reguluar programs about it on various media outlets. Your doctor tells you with monotous regularity. People write books about it.

You really need the government to tell you?

Just saw this guy practically begging the government to to "save the NRL" because apparently cancelling games will mean its end.  Sorry, but I think that we have different priorities than giving any money to sport bodies.

Yeah, I heard that on the radio recently, and thought, what the...? Why the government?

Why don't they ask their adverisers and sponsors to help out. Theyr'e the ones making huge profits out of games.

All I've heard on tv is to eat plenty of fruit & vegies, but too much fruit is probably worse than none at all. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say in any health program not to eat white flour, and it's only a rare program that says not to eat sugar. They say to cut down on salt but they say a teaspoon a day is okay, but it's still way too much. I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention the immune system.

Doctors have never told me ANYTHING, let alone how to eat. If I want my blood pressure taken I have to almost beg. I still hear others tell me they don't eat eggs or other healthy food because their doctor told them not to. Doctors just aren't trained in nutrition. They're trained to cure (with drugs), not to prevent. Not that they can cure anything, they just suppress it temporarily.

Yes, people write books about it but how many people actually read them - certainly not most of the people who actually need to. While people are panicking about a virus (that's hardly likely to affect them) is a good time to tell them to eat better because they may actually be scared enough to listen.

I've completely given up sugar about two months ago, which has reduced my pot about half already

There's this misconception about fruit, this is what I consume to take care of that sweet tooth...your liver can't handle sugars so it turns it into fat, this isn't the case with "fruit"

Interesting info about honey, but i found i don't have use sweeteners anymore.

Signatures suck.

Ms Berejiklian also encouraged people to let authorities know if they saw others refusing to self-isolate.
