I don't get the cramps very often. But I sometimes get the night cramps in the upper part of my leg. How do I get rid of it as when it try and pull my foot back it doesn't do any good.
Anyone have any advice ??

Magnesium? I think that is supposed to reduce cramps.

Potassium also helps.. So lots of bananas and Avocado.. You can also get cramps if you're deficient in sodium so go and drink some Gatorade

Pulling the foot back works for me when I have a cramp in the shin area ... so maybe flexing your knee would help? I find that when it hurts the most, it's doing the most good. Best of luck.

Potassium supplements, such as potassium acetate and potassium bicarbonate, can also be taken to alleviate leg cramping. However, consult your doctor before beginning any supplement.

Magnesium helps to stop leg cramps, I was told this on another thread when I asked.

Total Calcium Magnesium + D3
fantastic stuff for prevention of leg cramps and restless leg syndrome. I take 1 a day and if I slack off, the cramps come back.

magnesium helps....be careful with potassium tho....it interferes with some medications...there's a warning about it on one of my meds.?

and don't take magnesium without calcium.

What gill says is right potassium interferes with high blood pressure medication, it is best to talk to you doctor for advise
