While it was done some years ago I see, I thought I would try a cryptic crossword-like thread for fun and to try and boost a little more interest here. I made up the below question for anyone interested in such a challenge. I thought the first person to get it correct might come up with the next question. A clue though - if you copy one from a newspaper or magazine etc., the answer can often be found on the internet. I can explain the answer for anyone who asks. ๐
The prisoner at the cave would not stand for the electrically charged droplets of water.

Alternative clue:
An audible punch, a right-facing choice had the befuddled group stink with an uneasy little biter.

The original clue is:
How you go, o changeable nymph! From the southern settlement thou pursuest an old peace but fell in with a cop, look out, America!
A clue to one part of this:
Old peace could seem such a gentle way of going down the stream?

This helps, (I say that like I have hope ๐๐๐๐). Thank you. Iโve already gone through two pieces of A4 scrap paper, working out meanings, words, etc.... *sigh* ๐
Also, and FYI.... an interesting bit of trivia, there are five thousand, seven hundred and fifty seven 15 letter words in the English language ๐ญ.
Iโm going onto night duty tonight, for a week, so Iโll have a bit more time (I hope) to work on these clues.
Howโs everyone else plodding along with it? ๐

Plodding - LOL - I'm up that stream without a paddle.

Me too! I keep wanting to say metamorphosis - but that's only 13 letters.

I'm going to have a go, but I'm far from confident LOL.

not_for_sale, you were right...
... to be far from confident.
It's not deuteranomalous.
K1ooo is absolutely on the ball with the filled-in letters so far.
Will it help if I say that it is a word used in entomology rather than ophthalmology?
