Yes I have chooks
I have a coop that is made from metal and wire .. the wooden ones are not long lasting. I have about 40 chooks (although two less this morning ๐ )
You need to either bury wire or lay wire around your cage so the foxes cannot dig under the cage.
My chooks are protected by alpacas, but there are some chooks outside the paddock and they're the one that the fox is getting ....
i feed them on a seed mix for chooks and a layer mash .. then I feed them all my kitchen leftovers.

So, fox got 2 more chooks .. in the Alpaca paddock by breaking chicken wire!!!!!
I have a fox trap now, and hoping for the best....
Fox - 7
DDU - 0

thats why i won't have chooks here anymore, foxy area.
fox got mine, all three of them!
admittedly, i did get them for nothing, they wandered into my yard from who knows where one day and wouldn't go away, built them a nice little coop and everything, they were excellent layers too

Well foxes must be smart where you are because I have a fox hanging around here, not a timid fox either. We have 6 foot wire and foot wire all around but if that fox had half a brain he would know all he had to do was jump onto the balcony and over the gate. But he's dumb man.
Twice I've forgotten and left the coop door open all night but we still have chooks in the morning with idiot fox on the outside looking in.

Our fox is getting more bold with each passing day.
I've got the trap and it will be out all the time now.
It's empty this morning and I haven't checked the chooks yet (but i will later)

Yay my chickens went up the ramp to bed in their new enclosure!
Only two chooks now and a new wooden chook house, smaller one with a cage underneath, ramp up to perches and laying shelves up top. First night tonight they both went up the ramp to bed on their own accord and I shut the sliding door closed behind them ๐

Whatever happened to Klarry? She was the lady who had the small horse/farm animals barge into her house? Is she still around?
