DDU can I ask you about your chooks? You do have chooks don't you?
Roughly what sort of cage do you have i.e. wooden? How many chooks & what/how much do you feed them? I searched chook houses on ebay, do you suggest a good one?


Klarry what is needed to fox proof a chook house? We were thinking wire underneath and perhaps sleepers too? Are snakes & rats a problem?


Any information would be good 🙂

Egg count is now four, hopefully two more today  :-x

It's amazing how much DIFFERENT a fresh egg tastes.

The yolks are all firm, and a bright colour(not dark).

I'm thinking of actually frying or poaching them whole for a change, as I usually scramble.

annie it's great getting eggs isn't it? One of mine is laying again and I love collecting them when I come home from work. I've got nine chickens now but that's because I let the clucky one sit on eggs. She's the one laying again and so far hasn't tried to sit on them.

Still don't know if any are roosters but the main rooster is chasing them all around so I don't know... they surely couldn't all be hens?
