The builder accused of killing four children after mowing them down in his 4WD ute while drunk is the son of a retired police detective and had allegedly been drinking at home with friends in the lead up to the tragedy.
Samuel William Davidson is facing up to 25 years in prison if he is convicted of 20 offences including four counts of manslaughter and high-range drink driving after Saturday's horrendous crash. He has been isolated in jail over fears for his safety.
The 29-year-old builder allegedly blew 0.150,three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit, after his Mistubishi Triton mounted the curb and slammed into a group of seven children on a footpath at Oatlands in Sydney's north-west.
Siblings Antony Abdallah, 13, Angelina Abdallah, 12, Sienna Abdallah, eight, and their 11-year-old cousin Veronique Sakr, were killed.
He should be Epstein'd

It should be 4 counts of murder not manslaughter.
He would need protection in prison because everyone would want a piece of him.

He needs to be made an example of and given the highest sentence possible.
It would be a first though as usually they get a slap on the wrist.
But yes, jail him and let the others get a piece of him, there is just no excuse. I wonder what kind of shonky lawyer will take him on.

In light of this terrible tragedy, authorities are calling for blood/alcohol to be reduced to what it is in Norway i e 0.02. Hear, hear.
What difference would that make? He was three times the legal limit anyway so lowering the limit would not have stopped him.

there was one person driving the vehicle
it should not matter who he is related to
everyone who commits a crime should be delt with the same
he should not be given a lighter or heavier sentence because of his dad being a cop or ex cop or the prime minister.
i do agree drink driving levels should be lower than what they are but thats easy for me to say i never drink.
driving is one thing most of us do that requires 100% attention

A tragedy no doubt, but a murderer he is not

I reckon the crime is committed the moment you get behind the wheel drunk - in that state you are an accident going somewhere to happen, regardless of whether you eventually kill or injure someone. Maybe if there was a mandatory (and substantial) gaol sentence for drink driving, people would think twice before risking it.

He was a Killer the moment he got behind the wheel.
My heart goes out to the family of these lovely children taken to soon, while a killer will live
