I think it is all interesting but that part is odd, although I guess effectively that is what it is.

I found the story of the Sanson family who used to do the French executions interesting. Wealthy but unable to live in the town with others as they were cast out for being murderers and the job was passed on father to son. I can't find any decent links though.
