As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Yes, that can be Labor's answer to everything if Labor wins the next election - it's LNP's fault.

Malcolm Turnbull’s ‘Blue Steel’ a power pitch?
Malcolm Turnbull has risked ridicule by posing for the cover of GQ Australia in a highly stylised shoot, sporting a sharp suit more likely to be seen on a fashion model than a politician.
Wearing a tailored navy blue suit, a pinstriped shirt, patterned red tie and a fancy pocket square, with a determined, steely look, the Communications Minister is positioned behind the provocative headline “Primed Minister”.

GQ Australia is on sale Monday
Accompanied by a lengthy interview in which Mr Turnbull discusses his difficult upbringing and politics, the overall impression will do nothing to dispel the perception that he is after the Prime Minister’s job and is pitching for votes.
The most startling revelation in the eight-page spread is Mr Turnbull’s comments on whether he would have put up his hand for the top job had the leadership spill been successful.
“People would have been astonished if I hadn’t.”
On his opinion of himself, Mr Turnbull says: “Honestly, it’s this simple: I get out of bed and I am me. If people find me persuasive or offensive that’s up to them, but I am comfortable in my own skin and I honestly never ask, ‘How can I change myself to be more appealing to people?’.”
Alongside labels including “Inventor of the internet” and “Proud wearer of leather”, the effect is of a politician trying to convince colleagues that he is a new man and has learned from his mistakes.
He concedes he was not a successful opposition leader, but says people learn vastly more from their defeats.
The previously unseen cover image, which has been never published, was taken in a GQ shoot with Mr Turnbull in 2013.
A spokesman for Mr Turnbull declined to comment on whether he was pleased with the outcome of the interview he granted GQ.
It goes on sale on Monday

"Economists say the last Budget was a dud... " And the Real World parliament of the ASX and bi-partisan party XAO ?
The Budget was in May 2014, so to help in your understanding and difficulty's with graphical representation of the real world and business, here is the "dud" data set since then.
I have condensed the data to monthly figures, post budget., (easier to comprehend, possibly)
That is approximately 7 % in 11 months. CBA calculates as 15%. "Dud", not according to my bank account, but then again I am not bleating gimme gimme gimme.

Don't you understand that interest rates are the lowest they've ever been.? My parents were just saying last week that this is the worst off they've ever been, hardly any interest on their bank accounts, I guess that's why so much cash has flowed into the ASX. The return is currently much higher than it is on cash in the bank. I wouldn't want to be buying into this current inflated market though.

The ASX is NOT the real world parliament. Far from it. And the majority of economists still say the budget was a dud. They only ones who don't are those paid up members of the LNP old boys club.
Do you have trouble with Julie Bishop's name too, or is it only Julia Gillard you can't get right?
What's that type of affliction called?

Seems like Turnbull did not learn from the Poor Me kangaroo shoot !!
Also from the Australian http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/pms-office-roos-the-knitting-shoot-blames-magazine-...
THE Prime Minister's office has been caught on the hop, claiming a magazine photoshoot of Julia Gillard knitting a woollen kangaroo for the royal baby was a "stitch-up" not of their making.

Realisitically, the ASX is not booming because the economy is going gang busters now is it? Almost reporting season too. I bet the only ones making money are the banks

Yes, economists in the real world, not bleaters (whoever they are)
"Dud", not according to my bank account, but then again.....
Are you the only person in Australia? sounds like it from most of your posts.
