As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

And the PM mocks his own government's programme. It's your news of the day, reduced to a snarky rant.
One of the more concerning things I've had in this new responsibility as Minister for Social Services is to be briefed on what happens at the end of each school year, particularly for young school leavers," Morrison said of the aforementioned dream he had which bore no resemblence to reality. "This document [the new policy] is not an Ikea catalogue to go shopping for benefits. That's not what it is."
i don't think the journo who wrote that article is very keen on the abbott govt.

"Anyway back to the topic. It has been revealed that fewer than 70 premises have been connected to the super duper new fangled MTM.
Telstra share prices are irrelevant to the topic. The greedy pigs who consider their own bank balances more important than the rest of the population and the good of the country have no valid points to argue."
They are very relevant as the earlier post attempted to insinuate some "nefarious ' economic nexus between the NBN and Telstra, also one of their employees
PS they have had a very "close relationship" since the ALP attempted to run a business (badly) in the form of the NBN.
The greedy pigs who consider their own bank balances more important than the rest of the population and the good of the country have no valid points to argue."
You mean the greedy sheep/goats who comprise 80% of the electorate, and who vote according to how much hand feeding they will receive (hip pocket nerve syndrome)
Yes I consider my bank balance takes priority over the "rest" of the population, Well at least the loud bleating portion of it actually, because it seems they always want some of it, for nothing!.
Anyway, I ask again what are the up/down rates for these : fewer than 70 premises have been connected to the super duper new fangled MTM. .? (and of course reliable confirmation link)

"it always pays to read an article first before commenting imo" Also do some research before just blithely doing a C&P !, However, the economics could be a problem
OK, cathartic articles are in short supply so dig up one, not from the Jakarta Post, but the Daily Telegraph Aug 2014? (OK it is in the approved history period)
"....The Hockey family’s astute purchase of the property in one of Canberra’s premier suburbs is a well-known story in political circles. The home is worth an estimated $1.5 million according to local real estate agents. But the Hockey clan picked up the property for a song, purchasing it for just $320,000 in 1997. "
A song? the median house price in 1997 in Canberra was $152,000, so $320,000 was double the median
Between 1997 and 2002 house prices in the ACT were increasing by around 15 per cent every year.
But by 2007 the rate of increase had dropped to just below 10 per cent and has continued falling ever since, down to an average of just over 2 per cent in the past five years.
2015 Median Canberra house price $560,000.
Applying the same median increase ratio to "melody" house, the going for a song property would now be worth approximately $ 1.18 million, then applying real estate hype, and the 2014 article bias (which made it attractive) voila $1.5 million.

"Sneaky though don't you think when the property owner specified he didn't want to deal with real estate agents and lawyers - I wonder how he felt when he realized he had dealt with... A real estate agent and a lawyer"
What exactly is strange about a private real estate sale? It actually means you save on agents commission/costs, and if you do the conveyancing yourself you also save on solicitors charges. You can also split the deposit monies interest earned during the settlement period you choose.
In this case the seller, I would guess, was maximising the return on the sale, and was actually not using any other parties acting in a professional role.
I think that in your haste to diss Joe you overlooked the obvious advantages of a private DIY real estate sale, accepted without thought the figures presented, and also "overlooked" that Hockey hasn't been certified to practise law since June, 1994

Gosh the Kudos tagging lieutenants are busy, and not reading also!
"how awful is Barnaby Joyce trying to bully Gina Rhineheart's daughter with a govt. email"
A spokesman for Mr Joyce said the letter to a member of the Rinehart family, sent when he was a Queensland senator in September 2011
That is forbidden history: 2011, and was during Circus time (sorry). "govt email" small (moot?) point, but "govt" was Poor Me's back then.
