As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

No I don't need to at all, if you read back to what was being discussed, you'll see that we were discussing television interviews with journalists. They areallpre -recorded and edited, as I saidand as i said, that is not true
because i have seen the pm being
on live morning shows (on television)
interviewed by journos.
live.
on television.
I love how they manage to get live interviews that repeat word for word the live interview of the hour before.

That means nothing Julia. We get that on the TV here in WA and it is obviously not.
They can't interview someone not live. Doesn't mean it is shown live 😄

"and do you know he doesn't have the nerve to hold a live interview with journalists, they are all pre-recorded and edited"
No I did not because that is absolute nonsense. Perhaps some further (and better) explanations might help. Print?, TV?, or radio journalists? What journalists do you imagine this occurs with? Who does the editing?
How do you imagine all the interviews that the gang here love to diss, escape the imagined editing? When I watch Abbott on Insiders with Barry Cassidy, or with Leigh Sales, or John Faine on radio, these interviews are "all pre-recorded and edited" ? Rubbish
The National Press Club of Australia, speech, questions and answers live radio broadcasts represent a multitude of assorted journalists and their questions, broadcast live on ABC and ABC News 24 and also streamed live online on ABC News 24."all pre-recorded and edited" What nonsense!
Again I mention that making a definitive statement that is demonstrably wrong (again), only serves to underwrite the lack of credibility of the whole and also subsequent posts.

I guess this past statement from Harvey Shorten is about to be edited, because journalists have been telling us that the ALP/ACTU having produced Harvey Shorten from lay-by are awaiting his (unedited?) "captain's call" of FULL ASTERN
Bill Shorten rules out Labor support for turn-backs
"Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has drawn a line under debate in the Labor Party over a policy shift on asylum seekers, slapping down immigration spokesman Richard Marles' suggestion the ALP could embrace boat turn backs."
