Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Tony was wearing a business shirt (without tie) and a blazer (and pants!), at Kirribilli house when entertaining the cricket players there.

Margie had on a nice dress -- what colour you ask? Guess?

Spoiler
WHITE

All authoritarian bluster but question if he has any true legal grounding for his commands.

Gov't of the day decides what's legal.

Don't get the emphasis on the clothes.

I prefer pollies NOT to always be dressed up in a suit and tie or whatever for ladies.

The emphasis was really on Joe Hockey appearing for a perk. Where else has he appeared lately?

As mentioned, one hopes those signed bats, don't end up being used for political reasons (signed bats by Australian cricket players being used for purposes they weren't intended for - political leverage re asylum seekers, like the last lot was).

Why the emphasis ?

Do you go around glammed up all of the time ?

why the emphasis??
so if someone finds the film they can spot him in the background. He looked very out of place, the others were all dressed more appropriately
anything else you'd like to query??

They pass the law.

Funny how even the do gooders like Rintoul and that batch of legal wan kers haven't had that much affect on them.

Anyway, the boats stopped, returned the Sri Lankans to India, the AS aren't coming any more and we only have a few thousand stuck in some god forsaken hole of an island which will make them and others think twice about trying it again.

Result - Successful outcome for the Abbott Gov't which Labor couldn't acheive.
