As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Kevin Rudd has not got a diagnosed personality disorder. One has been reading too much Murdoch press propaganda....
Current PM I wonder if he has ADHD or similar.

I like the irony in saying Abbott is the worst PM
Yet labor gave us Rudd and Gillard LOL, two useless t rds who ever became PM.
Rudd had a personality disorder, control fetish, Gillard was just incompetent.

How rude and disrespectful aps to refer to past PM as formed pieces of excrement.....guessing ref 't rds'....or perhaps you were referring to them as being retarded-slang for.
At least I am sure they did not have a Scholarship e.g. same as a Rhodes Scholarship or similar 'paid for' or bought for them. Both were/are very intelligent people in their own right.
As for 'personality'.....well imo Abbott does not have a personality, he comes across as characterless and a bit of a programmable 'drone' that easily stutters 'um, errr, umm, err' a lot.
As for 'control fetishes' Nah! Abbott could not control anything even a lycra legging run!
Yes! Abbott is just inadequate AND incompetent. Agreed

The hulking BMW armoured car worth at least $500,000 is now carrying Tony Abbott on his daily travels, delivering him to the Prime Minister's XI cricket match in Canberra on Wednesday.
Mr Abbott's new ride is one of nine BMW armoured cars the government has bought under a $6.3 million contract.
The new cars were the subject of a political stoush with Labor questioning why Holden wasn't considered for the contract after it emerged that BMW did not bid in the original tender. Officials from the Attorney-General's department told recent Senate hearings the original tender winner turned out not to meet the "full requirements" and the department had to seek the best "value for money".

here's an article for all the Julia fans
What lies behind the family's fascination?
Ms Wang said they particularly admired Ms Gillard for breaking the 'glass ceiling' to become the country's first female prime minister.
She said her father wanted her mother to sign the sale contract so the property would pass "from woman to woman".
Ms Wang hesitantly added that her family was "very fond" of the Labor Party because it was Bob Hawke who allowed Chinese students, including her father, to come to Australia after the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.
"He is forever indebted to them," Ms Wang sai
