As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

http://www.lawyersweekly.com.au/news/ala-tells-politicians-to-back-off
Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) spokesperson Greg Barns has slammed politicians from both major political parties for an “appalling” readiness to attack independent statutory officers.
Barns’ comments follow Tony Abbott’s public criticism of Human Rights Commission president Gillian Triggs over her recommendation to release a Papuan refugee from immigration detention.
The prime minister labelled Triggs’ decision as “pretty bizarre” and demonstrating “extremely questionable judgement” when speaking with reporters last week.
Barns described the attack as “disturbing” and showing “great ignorance of the law”.
This is not the first time the government has turned on senior legal officers over immigration policies.
interesting article from the ALA pretty much about politicians eroding our systems

and here's an article that goes with the facts and figures you posted earlier
Another month, another health minister, another reboot of the discredited GP tax, but the same old false arguments.
Health minister Sussan Ley is sticking like a barnacle to the hull of the discredited and dishonest justification for the GP tax advanced by her failed predecessor, who took one year in the job to be declared Australia’s worst health minister for 40 years.

I think it's very unfair of you to state sources and facts to the likes of aps and other righties. It tends to confuse them and mess with their "brains".
They are usually addled before they have to deal with these facts problems

after this mob of fools have been kicked out (next election) we will find that the majority of their decisions etc have directly benefited themselves, friends, spouses, other relatives etc - follow the money and we will find one the LyingNPers. It's annoying that the ALP have already said they won't be holding any RCs into the LyingNP antics because unlike them they aren't as low. I hope that public pressure will change that because sometimes you have to get low to catch a rat.
