As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Climate change 'hysteria' was like a scary children's sci-fi story ALP MP
The once ALP Federal Minister for Resources and Energy Gary Gray held the view that climate science was “pop science” and a “middle-class conspiracy to frighten schoolchildren”.
Thankfully Christensen is but a backbencher!

thanks boris....particularly like:
"But now the plot had moved into a “farcical comedy as government and environmental terrorists make ridiculous suggestions about how mankind will control the planet”, Christensen said.
......on second thought - that is if I am possibly right and monman the greatest is wrong-Heaven forbid - and evil chemtrailing does exist AND HAARP etc.....(sarc) they DO indeed exist of course .....so reason enough to be very concerned

shame this, hope it doesn't lead to more harpooning of our (as in the worlds) Whales, abbott was never enthusiastic about the legal win- surprise really as he calls himself a conservationist... i thought maybe he meant "conversationist" but that can't be right either.
Tony Abbott's caution has let Japanese whaling off the hook

to Boris:
Just wanted to share these comments following an article :
The Abbott government's carbon tax repeal bills have been defeated in the Senate.
Australia not only installed, with the help of mongrel murdoch and gina the rhino the WORST government in history, along with a lolloping baboon as its leader, but is destined to be the ONLY country in the world to defy a MOUNTAIN of scientific evidence that says that carbon pricing is the way to go to ensure global warming does not continue its upward trend. this government MUST BE SWEPT ASIDE if necessary by open rebellion, and a government sensitive to its constituents and the wider international community elected to replace it. At present, I am ashamed to be Australian and to be associated with such a loathsome grubby lying deceitful fascist mob of bathplugs we now have.
and
All Palmer has asked is that to ensure the repeal ensures all savings are passed onto the Australian people, not just siphoned off to greater profits for our biggest polluters. Is this not a fair request? All Abbott wants to do is increase profits for big polluters, keep Australians paying more to be one of the worlds biggest polluters then add a tax to fuel to hurt regional Australia. How could anybody seriously support such poor policy?

a comment foll your article link am3:
Dont you think its great that in the middle of a "budget emergency" abbott the great was able to find $4mill to protect his "policies" from the evils of social media and free thinking civilians? I mean they have to cut $50b from health but he can still find the money for what counts, paying people to troll the interweb to pick on people that disagree with this rubbish "government". So happy the adults are in charge...

Poor Me - tones new name - he really should sack his high priced spin Drs - they are failing miserably, and peta crudlin might need a break because she has certainly fallen down on the job. I suppose murdochs orcs will be targeting Mr Muir now that he has pleasantly surprised everyone.

They just don't get it.
The public will think I am great, my policies are great, because I told them I am/they are.
