As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

He's just a dud. That's some serious mental impairment that prevents a person from being able to use a woman's name.

"The ASX is NOT the real world parliament. Far from it. And the majority of economists still say the budget was a dud. They only ones who don't are those paid up members of the LNP old boys club."
What no old girls club? oh dear!
Q: Why did God create economists?
A: In order to make weather forecasters look good.
I live in the real world and also enjoy a few chuckles here in the quasi world of C&Ps and the he/she said posts if it appeals to a bias.
However, the ASX/XAO is Australia's real (business) parliament. because it runs on facts and real figures, not what people say. (like here?)
Established in January 1980, the All Ordinaries (colloquially, the "All Ords"; also known as the All Ordinaries Index, AOI) is the oldest index of shares in Australia, so called because it contains nearly all ordinary (or common) shares listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

"Realisitically, the ASX is not booming because the economy is going gang busters now is it? Almost reporting season too. I bet the only ones making money are the banks"
Actually the ASX is doing well , just like XAO.
So in your opinion D9275 you bet that only the banks are making money.?
CHUCKLE, I will take that bet.
Do you feel sorry for the other 2200 listed companies in the ASX who will not make any money? I know, ignore facts, blame the current malodorous Govt

Australian Democrats face oblivion as party deregistered by AEC
At the height of their popularity they held the balance of power in the Senate and helped the Howard government pass the GST.
But almost 40 years after they were established to "keep the **bleep**s honest", the Australian Democrats have been deregistered as a political party, according to the Australian Electoral Commission.
In a short statement on Thursday, the AEC said it had deregistered the party because it had not met the required threshold of 500 members
well, that's the end for the Democrats

Prime Minister Tony Abbott rebukes Canberra Liberals over plan to tear up ACT light rail contract
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has issued a thinly-veiled rebuke to Canberra Liberals about their plan to tear up a light rail contract if they win the 2016 ACT election.
On Wednesday, ACT Opposition MLA Alistair Coe said the Canberra Liberals would cancel construction of the $800-million project if they win the election next year.
His comment was made after the Victorian State Government announced that it would pay more than $300 million to cancel existing contracts for Melbourne's East West Link.
Mr Coe said that decision paved the way for his party to cancel any contracts the ACT Government signs for light rail in Canberra.
But today, when asked what his thoughts were on Mr Coe's plan, Mr Abbott seemed unimpressed.
"The position of this Government is that contracts should be honoured," he said.
But the ACT Government warned the cancellation of the light rail contract they plan to sign early next year could cost taxpayers hundreds of millions in wasted compensation
interesting!

Barnett wants Vic to support their quest for more GST because:
“When Victoria had those tragic fires a few years back, Western Australia was the first state and the most generous state to provide financial assistance,” Mr Barnett said on radio station 6PR.
