As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

The former prime minister appeared at the Giant Dwarf venue as part of the new Photo Opp event, where former politicians discuss the stories behind particular photos. It was hosted by the former New South Wales premier Kristina Keneally and Julian Morrow, from satirist comedy group the Chaser.

She was asked how hot Obama is and she answered.  Rather vast difference between a discussion about photos and asking people to vote on the sex appeal factor in an election campaign.

Anyway, have you come up with anything as outrageous as a PM who doesn't know how many points the Federation Star has, and has had since 1908.  It's obvious he doesn't see beyong the UK Jack.

In the 50s maybe.  We don't live there anymore. Men iron their work shirts and women put up tents when they want.

My hubby is a better ironer than me, better at putting up tents too - I don't think we've had gender specific tasks since the 50's as Glee said

But we both know how many points there are to a star on our flag

i didnt say men didnt iron work shirts.

in general, women do most ironing at

home.  fact.

Obama aid 50 instead of 40 once. Easy mistake.  AbBortt rambled on about changing the points on the stars. He was already laughing at his own jokes while doing so.  His demeanour was like that of a big oafish school kid..
