As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

oh dear! another day, another big boo-boo

A former Liberal MP says her constituents lost millions in hospital funding by voting her out in favour of an independent in the 2013 federal election.
Sophie Mirabella, who is re- contesting her former seat in regional Victoria, says the Abbott government rescinded on a promise of $10 million dollars for a local hospital because she lost the seat.
The former member for of Indi told a Sky News forum she had secured a commitment for the funding but that commitment was withdrawn after she lost her seat to Independent Cathy McGowan.

Scott Morrison was trying to cover for her today, Deb, saying there was "no public commitment" to the hospital funding. This government will say anything to try and justify its actions (and those of its defeated members), however dodgy.
It looks as if Barnaby Joyce, still buzzing from all those hits on the Pistol & Boo video, has broken ranks and given Mirabella a serve:

I hate to say it, but the CFMEU is right - and maybe the government wrong
I am no fan of the CFMEU at all, and think Labor should cut its ties to this lawless bunch.
But its ad today has made me reconsider my support for the Turnbull Government’s bill to bring back the Australian Building and Construction Commission with strong powers to crack down on building unions:
You see, its claims are true. Building workers will indeed have fewer legal rights than dealer caught selling ice, as Alan McDonald of employment law firm McDonald Murholme told us on the show tonight. And McDonald is no radical.
this was a rather strange blog from bolt a few days ago, maybe he's trying to get an audience for his new show

Yes I watched it. Absolutely disgraceful; questioning doctors' opinion re need of urgent transfer to proper hospital, transporting dying man without oxygen and then leaving him on a stretcher on tarmac in the tropical sun for an hour without oxygen and shelter. You would not treat an animal like that. 😞

I didn't watch it Myo but I've read a bit about it.. Is it true that the doctors risk facing jail time because they're discussing it??
on 26-04-2016 04:50 PM
Yes, theoretically, but somehow the government would not take the risk. The world is watching and judging us. I wonder why the shock jocks are not bleating about freedom of speech now.
