As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

What does everyone think will happen in the reshuffle of the front bench?
Will he (meaning they, of course, PETA not PETER, and SUPPY) have the guts to ditch Hockey?
I think Bishop wants the treasury.

Has anyone heard about the reshuffle yet? It is supposed to be today.

Morrison has been moved to Social Services.
Because he is so compassionate, not.

Because he is so compassionate, not.
More compassionate than Labor and the Greens, at least Morrison hasn't drowned 1200+ women and children
on the basis of ideology. I dare you to find one compasionate comment from Sarah Hanson Young about them.
Re the move, That's logical.
He's just following the welfare recipient Asylum Seekers, might as well keep continuity

I stand corrected. Sarah Two Dads level of compassion extends to
this when asked about accepting responsibility for the drownings because of the let the boats come policies.
"“Of course not. Tragedies happen, accidents happen.”"
Sarah Hanson Young did say the boat drownings were "collateral damage" didn't she.
If that's compassion, god help us.

I doubt that she said that.
Talking about compassion; do you know what happened to all the people who were turned back? What about those sent back to Sri Lanka? If they are tortured and/or killed, do you blame our government? And if not, why not?

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has dumped Defence Minister David Johnston from his front bench and replaced him with veteran MP Kevin Andrews.
Mr Abbott has also promoted NSW MP Sussan Ley to be the second woman in cabinet and handed Scott Morrison the Social Services portfolio.
Health Minister Peter Dutton has been moved to the Immigration portfolio, while Ms Ley has taken over the Health job.
Same dudsters with different titles/portfolios.
Senator Johnston's exit has been widely expected and comes after a series of gaffes and missteps, including the assertion that he wouldn't trust the Australian Submarine Corporation to build a canoe, after losing a chief of staff and then two more senior advisers..
Victorian rising star Josh Frydenberg has been promoted to the role of Assistant Treasurer vacated by Arthur Sinodinos on Friday, while South Australian senator Simon Birmingham will take over the Assistant Education portfolio which has been vacated by Ms Ley.
Pretty low calibre of people Abbott picked first time around.
