As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Coalition 2014: The blame game
DURING 2014, the federal Coalition continued to blame the former Labor government for an ailing federal budget that restricts funding for agricultural programs and other policy initiatives.
But the key question for Tony Abbott and his parliamentary colleagues is this - how long can they continue excusing their current performance, and rationalising their unprecedented tight fist, by pointing at the flaws and perceived failures of yesterday’s government?
Nearly halfway through a three-year term, the Coalition is gradually running short on time to prove its competency and deliver telling results on key election promises, like making agriculture one of the nation’s five economic pillars.

The labor govt was in caretaker mode. Caretaker mode means you dont sign things and decisions that need to be made are consulted with the opposition.
Should not have signed th lease, shoud have asked if it was required And no, it wasnt a publicity stunt as
you seem to think everything he does is.
Labor cocked up signing the lease.
did parliament approve these renos for things like replacing the slate roof, wiring ect. these things are actually maintenance
as you are aware, napthine did the same thing in Vic with the east/westlink. but do you approve of that seeing he's LNP?
when abbot got out of the lease for the lodge it cost us taxpayers
so my question is .. was in not OK for for the Lab govt to sign off on the urgent reno's (which I might add have hugely blown out more than double due to contstant changes of plans)
but OK for napthine to lock Vic into a dud deal just prior to election??
looks like he did not live at the army base for very long
