Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Rupert Murdoch sponsored Australian prime minister Tony Abbott has discovered you can't lie through your teeth, like politicians are want to do, and get away with it anymore. Not in an age where 1000s on social media will examine every word you say, every claim you make, and rip it apart, then share the truth with friends and family, despite how the mainstream media spins it.

Abbott's poll plunge is one of the most remarkable in Australian history. Few can remember anything like it before.

It's so bad, even Rupert Murdoch's Australian tabloids, like the Herald Sun, have to admit the truth. Abbott is a loser, and a liability for his party. One recent poll said only 1 in 4 Australians believe he will lead his government into the next federal election, and win.

That deserves a bit of the colour and bold treatment.Woman Happy

I challenge our Abbottphiles here on CS to start their own thread about the positive achievements of our current Government.

Maybe you could call it "Diary of our glorious Government" ?

Let's see if it gets to 5000 posts.

Not long ago I started a thread about putting your hand up if you were proud of Abbott - I think it fizzled out with no takers (fully understand your reticence to publicly support Tones, I must say).

Mr Shorten leads Mr Abbott in the Prime Minister’s home state of NSW by 40 to 39 per cent, and over the past 12 months has gained 16 points.

In Mr Shorten’s home state of Victoria, the Labor leader enjoys his biggest lead in the country as better prime minister, of 45 to 33 per cent.

City voters have Mr Shorten ahead as better prime minister by 43 to 36 per cent and for the first time country voters have put Mr Shorten narrowly in front by 39 to 38 per cent.

Western Australia is the only state where Mr Abbott is considered the better prime minister and he has a nine-point lead of 43 to 34 per cent.....Abbittsmissing has lost 7 points though and just give sandgropers a bit more time and *BOOM!*Smiley LOL

in ref to    the National Security Legislation Amendment Bill (No. 1) 2014,

Australian spies will soon have the power to monitor the entire Australian internet with just one warrant, and journalists and whistleblowers will face up to 10 years’ jail for disclosing classified information.

The government’s first tranche of tougher anti-terrorism laws, which beef up the domestic spy agency ASIO’s powers, passed the Senate 44 votes for and 12 against on Thursday night with bipartisan support from Labor.

Paints, yes and Asio still won't be able to find it's own bum - ridiculous laws, we already have some of the most invasive so called "anti terrorist" laws in the world yet they have rarely been used because they are unnecessary and ineffective.
