As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

He is the biggest LIAR of anyone in Australia. Tony Abbott has hurt more Australians in 16 months than anyone in Australia's history imo.
Tony Abbott is the laziest, bludging, leaning, incompetent, good for absolutely NOTHING Australian I have ever had the misfortune to have as a supposed 'leader' imo.
Name one 'good' thing this waste of space has done for someone else that benefited that person or someone else or a group of people? ONE thing?
He gave highly paid jobs to a few friends. They certainly benefited from his desire to dismantle everything most people like about Australia.

From my research there are only a few groups of Australians who would continue to vote for Tony Abbott's mob. One group would be the WEALTHY over 65's who are fortunate to either have received a pension (many now will have to wait many years past 65 yrs of age to qualify) or are sitting pretty....which is great & how it should be if you have earnt assets but if you were unemployed and under 35 you would be treated/assessed much more unfairly under new regs if you had same assets as say an over 65 year old.
Then there are the extremist die-hard blue ties who would do anything to have what Tony and his mates have.
Cannot think of anyone else who would vote to keep or have Tony Abbott and his crackpots back........
Our present system is rubbish. These idiots are not doing anything constructive to sort out only interested in their own nest egg.

The Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JEPA) comes into force today with the same blanket exemptions from Labour Market Testing (LMT) for workers that the Korean Free Trade Agreement has.
This means that all employers in Australia (both Australian and Japanese firms) will no longer have to seek qualified locals to fill vacancies in the skilled trade, nursing and engineering occupations and prove none could be found, before 457s are approved for Japanese workers. From now on LMT is permanently banned in all other 457 occupations.
“We still don’t know what is in the China Agreement but it is highly likely they will seek the same conditions, and now it looks like we’ll be signing a similar half-baked deal with India.
“These blanket 457 visa concessions should not even be in Free Trade Agreements, they have nothing to do with international trade.“All these agreements are also binding on future governments, so no Australian government in the future can require LMT for Korean or Japanese nationals in the 457 visa program.”
“This completely invalidates the point of 457 visas which were created to fill short-term skill shortages when they arose in the labour market.
“It simply beggars belief that with rising unemployment and the mining, construction and manufacturing industries shedding jobs at the rate of knots, the Government would make it even easier for employers to bypass qualified local workers.
“Abbott must come clean on the detail of these agreements so that the electorate knows the Government in doing these deals is sealing the fate of Australian workers and our young people.”

.............. for Tony's Maaaaaates.
How could an unemployed Australian - with possibly a brilliant business plan afford to employ even a revamped 457 worker/s for even 6 months?......
