As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

what do you make of this aps?
TONY Abbott defied Treasurer Joe Hockey and the former Health Minister Peter Dutton to impose a “crazy’’ $20 cut to GP rebates before backflipping on the policy he had demanded.
In a highly damaging leak from the powerful expenditure review committee, senior ministers have confirmed they were told Mr Hockey and Mr Dutton opposed the move during a “heated’’ exchange with the Prime Minister.
The warnings included concerns that rolling out new changes to GP consults in the lead up to the Queensland and NSW state election was “crazy’’.
MAIDEN: WORKERS SHOULD FEAR ABBOTT’S CREEPY TAXES
DUTTON: GOVENMENT WON’T BACK DOWN ON GP FEE
Mr Hockey argued that the Prime Minister should simply stay the course on the $7 GP co-payment. The Prime Minister was advised to put the changes to the Senate - despite the likelihood they would be voted down - to deliver the government a clean start to the year. The $3.5 billion blow to the budget could also be blamed on Labor.
a bit of a circus eh?

the right climate change deniers will stoop lower than low to push their ridiculous claims
http://theconversation.com/no-the-bureau-of-meteorology-is-not-fiddling-its-weather-data-31009
No, the Bureau of Meteorology is not fiddling its weather data
Over the past week or so, the Bureau of Meteorology has stood accused of fudging its temperature data records to emphasise warming, in a series of articles in The Australian. The accusation hinges on the method that the Bureau uses to remove non-climate-related changes in its weather station data, referred to as “data homogenisation”.
If true, this would be very serious because these data sets underpin major climate research projects, including deducing how much Australia is warming. But it’s not true.

but it doesn't make sense that a man would bribe all the scientists around the world to fake global warming
that would be a huge investment.... for what??
nobody in this world invests without a return... so what would the benefit be to George Soros?
I've just been reading about him on wiki sounds like an OK guy actually. I agree with his anti gun stance too

He is anti gun which is why I know of him.
He does fund some dubious things though or has in the past.
He is untouchable by Govts, tax departments.
I wish he'd buy out Rupert Murdoch, the world would be a much better place if he did

Yes, I knew you would like him and agree with his anti gun stance being who you are.
But don't worry, we are making sure that as many guns get sold in this counry each year as possible
In some ways, John Howard did us all a favour, we handed in 3 guns, got paid way over what some were worth
and went straight back out and bought 5 - 8 so he actually increased the number of guns out there.
