As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

perhaps this article from the herald sun is more to your taste
MASSIVE electoral swings in Queensland and Victoria, plus leadership instability in Canberra, suggest democracy isn’t working right now. It’s time we temporarily suspended the democratic process and installed a benign dictatorship to make tough but necessary decisions.
Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once observed: “…democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”
By this he meant that for all their flaws, regular elections in which governments are elected by a majority of voters generally result in functional and stable societies. Countries like the UK, USA, Canada, most of Western Europe and New Zealand are popular choices for immigrants because their respective democratic systems allow people to get on with their lives.
For similar reasons, Australia is also a great place to inhabit. Yet our democracy is failing. As voters we’ve developed short attention spans and high expectations. Consequently our political masters are beholden to opinion polls.
that's a great idea, lets suspend democracy as it isn't going our way and we'll have a dictatorship instead

So you then C&P an article from it A3. ????
Do we then take your post seriously?
**************** can you not see the first part refers to your continual comments on The Guardian (which is your opinion, but I am sure you wouldn't expect every one to be compelled to agree with that,).
The second part in brackets , is my opinion...it is not true actually to describe The Guardian a leftie rag as a not to be taken serious media outlet.
I post articles for anyone to read, not catering for a select fews preferences. If someone doesn't want to take an article seriously then I am not at all bothered about that.

The way some carry on, you would think it was only a handful of posters on CS that do not agree with this govt. and it's policies, but it's most of the country as can be seen by the polls. Why does it upset some people here so much that we discuss it? the same was done here when it was the labor govt. In trouble in the polls.,it was discussed profusely
Yes, and the content was very silly.... colour of the PM's hair, furphies about her partner moving on to live in a caravan, the style of her suit jacket, accusations she got new glasses because she was about to make a major announcement, hilarious laughter when PM's heel got stuck in damp ground and she fell over... continous references to Rudd being a psycopath.....

Yes, I think so too, I posted earlier about noticing something in her eyes when she was interviewed yesterday.. sort of a 'I know something you don't look'. Whatever it is, she is looking very pleased with herself.
It would be better for her as Deputy Leader to have less of a clown as PM.

Yes, Bishop and Turnbull have been friends for a long time. Saw a photo of them together in official capacity, and it was a quite a few years ago.
I should have added in my previous post about posts critising the Labor Govt when they were in power, any media outlets quoted consisted of Pickering Post, Bolt (bloggers) and mainly from The Daily Telegraph with many oversized captioned images thrown in copied from facebook pages ( currently doctoring US Tea Party images to suit Australia now Abbott Govt is in)... chortle.

So why not research (check) it?
I think the Pacific Island countrieshave learned a lot already apropos political guerrilla warfare and political instability from the many years of the Circus with the Poor Me and Rudd knife act.

"Yes, she's had that twinkle in her eye all week. At first I thought it was because she was enjoying the attention/cat and mouse game with the press, not so sure now, perhaps there is more to it. Apparently she and Turnbull are very close friends. "
That is just childish sleazy innuendo.
