As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"Mr Abbott said the government has lost confidence in Professor Triggs because she had decided to hold an inquiry into the number of children in immigration only when the Coalition was in government, despite Labor's policies causing their imprisonment.

"It's absolutely crystal clear, this inquiry by the President of the Human Rights Commission is a political stitch up," he said. 

"It's a political stitch up and it will be called out by members of this government."

What Mr Abbott said is incorrect and is just an excuse to treat another female poorly.  In the report Professor Triggs clearly explained why she did not start the enquiry earlier.    The was no excuse for the way Mr Abbott attacked Professor Triggs, especially after she praised the current govt for their efforts to solve the problem.

Abbott just let his misogyny get the better of him with that attack.

Mr abbott says a lot of things.... He could always hold a RC into children in detention with both the lib and lab immigration ministers ( she did interview them both you know) lol... Her report covers 2013 -2014

Oh hang on, he ruled out an RC didn't he, but he spent heaps on trying to get Gillard on something... What was that over again? , a few thousand paid to a builder? .. Pathetic man

He was a ring leader of the riot and taking part in the riot.

All of these observers were said to be highly affronted by asylum seekers yelling insults about PNG.

“They started shouting, ‘F--- PNG’ and ‘You are an AIDS country’,” said civilian who said he had entered the compound. “They were saying, ‘We’ll f--- your wife, f--- your sister.’”"

Yes, the guards went in hard. Thats what you do to quell a riot.

So would I if people like this were shouting things like that.

There was a pretty good question asked in parliament today.... Abbott was asked if the govt.  has no confidence in triggs, why did they offer her a  job?   

Abbott's answer  was pathetic, he didn't know anything about it lol

they are discussing this on sky ATm.. That the job offer blows all their complaints out the window
