Did I hear right? $30million on ads to stop the boats?

Surely not. $30million would be better spent on saving lives than on ads ๐Ÿ˜ž

YesYes, that's what I heard as well, absolute pure stupidity spending money to tell people (some of which don't or can't understand or speak English) to stop either putting or getting on these un seaworthy junk

Open your mind ask ask yourself some questions

- will the investment save money in the long run, by reducing the number of people who arrive the boats?

- do any of the asylum seekers have relatives in Australia?

- will any of the asylum seekers see the ads on the TVs on every street corner cafe in Indonesia?

so you don't let people know they cant come ? brilliant.. that's going to work well.. this option likely saves money .. there is anecdotal evidence of it having an effect already.  people ring in and out of the country and the information flow gets the news out. the libs don't want it continued as they want boats to keep coming at least for a month.

1. No one knows the answer to that one and an answer may be a long way off.

2. I guess no one asks them when they stop the boat at sea, would be difficult as some don't speak English and others would say Yes in the hope they would be accepted or just say Yes because !!!!!

3. I would imagine not so waste of OUR TAX dollars, spend it on the NDIS.

And you know the Libs want to boats to keep coming LL ? or just another firfy same as KRudds scare campaign about the Libs increasing the GST. Just how desperate is this man that he will make up stories without any concrete evidence at all.

Are you then admitting that the NLP will win the election by saying they want the boats to keep coming for another month ? I guess you are suggesting they want this to happen after the election.

No.

The answer to all three questions is "yes"

Think big picture outside your own world view. It makes it easier to understand the motivations behind political decisions (in all parties).

i guess we will all have to wait and see, no one has that crystal ball and to say a definitive "yes" to all questions is a bit premature unless of course perhaps you know something no one else knowsMan Surprised

Well. I've seen the TVs on every street corner, nearly all of them tuned into Aus TV (the abc international channel)

I've seen relatives interviewed on TV

and I know no govt or business invests in advertising without calculating a return.
