Did the police feel threatened by this guy?

He couldn't have made a 'quick' getaway no matter what he is/was/may be guilty of.

Maybe the police are on drugs.

Why would they be on drugs?

I wondered why the officer appeared to be punching the guy but thought maybe he was biting them?

Drugs can often make people aggressive, it isn't normal to bash someone without legs is it? Especially when you have back up, it could be just thuggish police behaviour I suppose 🙂

Police get drug tested.

Nothing normal about any of it I think................. but without seeing what came before, no way of knowing.

Police used to get sent to Woop Woop for such actions, now they don't  Too many of them I would guess.

The punching seems really excessive. The rest is them just trying to subdue him and hold him still and I dont really have a problem with that. Strange as it may seem its probably more difficult to pin down a person with no legs. The first instinct would be to hold the legs still which in turn would restrict upper body movement. He was going pretty wild under there and was probably really difficult to hold onto.

The man they were robbing seems to be pretty happy with the police actions  http://www.9news.com.au/national/2014/11/17/21/03/amateur-video-captures-brisbane-police-punching-pi...

Would be interesting to see footage of the entire incident.

Oh, and I dont think letting go of him just because he couldnt easily flee would have been an option. He had committed a crime and had become aggressive with the police, what if they'd let him go and he had a weapon? I dont think they would be allowed to take that risk.

Simple solution ,when being arrested put your hands behind your back and allow your self to be hand cuffed , that way they have no need to wrestle or try to subdue you.
