I had the horrors of daily reports on his condition.....like anyone cares.
The staff in Supermax were glad to see the back of him.
Couldnt you have told them, you just didnt wish to know the details?
What are you talking about? Told who I did not want to know what details?
What I was saying was that I am glad he did not live long enough for the media to be reporting on him daily.

My son-in-law was working in Supermax in Goulburn from the day it opened apart from a short transfer to Long Bay.
He saw Milat every day of his working life. The staff was very glad to see the end of Ivan.....he was NOT a model prisoner.

I only just found out today that he lived in NZ for a couple of years running away from a Rape Charge.
I am going to stop myself from wondering of any Murders in NZ at the time.
You never get closure or what ever they call it, ever

Agreed....if he was a model of anything it would be evil.
It would curl your hair to know what he used to get up to that was never reported in the papers.
The same goes for most of the inmates in supermax.

My brother in law worked in prisons & said that a lot of the prisoners in high security were not just bad, they were mad, could go from seemingly 'pleasant' normal to raging violence in seconds over nothing in particular.
I am glad Milat is dead. I think he was defective. I don't know if it was a case of defective genes or because of his defective upbringing, probably a combination of both.
Unfortunately, I don't believe he was ever going to give over any information about his crimes, ever, even if he lived to 150.
I have a shocking suspicion that for truly evil people like Milat, they may not even remember all the details of how many they killed, where they left the bodies etc. Another month, another murder, they probably blended into each other after a while as the people themselves had no meaning to Milat.
I don't think you ever would get closure from the murder of a close family member but I do think recovering the body would be... I'm looking for the right word, not good, but a relief.
I think it would be an extra hell not to know what happened eg like the Beaumont children.
And i suspect Milat may have killed others who have never been found.

All I can say is that the world is a better place without him, and people like him. If there is an "afterlife", I hope he ends up totally alone on a planet from hell such as Venus or Mercury!

He should have been dead a long time ago, when he was found guilty.
